The following picture shows a fractal based on the original design with the beige diamonds eliminated. Its fractal dimension is roughly 1.05.

Notice that the diamonds are missing from the transformation of each shape, compared to the full shape. Also notice that the transformed triangle T₁ is the same as the Y shape Y₀. This means that triangle T_n is the same as Y_n-1.
